GFE Board Members

JOHN UDALL - President

John Udall is a physician in Seneca, SC.  He graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1986 and did his residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL, graduating in 1990.  He and his wife Cindy have two daughters.  Soon after becoming a Christian in 2001, he became interested in missions and began participating in missions trips on a yearly basis.

After going to Belize to do primary care, John realized that he would be more effective if he could use his specialty - radiology - on the mission field.  Affordable portable ultrasound machines were a new technological development at that time, so John and his partners bought one and started a ministry called Units USA, which sends radiologists around the world to do what they do best in order to assist short-term medical teams.  His work with this ministry took him to Ethiopia in early 2006...

ALAN BUNN - Board member

Alan Bunn is Pastor of Administration at North Hills Community Church located in Taylors, SC.  He graduated from Mars Hill College in 1977.  He and his wife, Coralyn, have three children, Joseph, Daniel, and Gloria.  His family has more than experienced first-hand God's sustaining grace when Joseph went home to be with the Lord in October, 2003.

Alan grew up in Texas, Spain, Turkey, NC, and Florida but it was the experience of living in Turkey that really opened his eyes to the reality and truth of the gospel.  After college, Alan briefly taught US History in the public schools of Augusta, GA, before embarking on a 20 plus year career selling promotional advertising products.  He joined the staff of North Hills in August of 2004.

In the fall of 2008, Alan was invited to join a team going to Wilisso, Ethiopia, in February of 2009.  Although Alan had traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East, this was his first trip toAfrica.  While in Wilisso, Alan helped lead a Pastor's conference for over 300 pastors and assisted with the medical team.  More importantly, Alan fell in love with the people of Ethiopia and also met John Udall and his family.
